Info: Orginally born in Changchun China, Boran moved to Montreal, Canada at the age of 6. He completed his B. Sc. (Honours) in chemistry in 2008 at McGill University under the supervsion of Prof. James Gleason. Later that year, he decided to pursue a career in academia at McGill with the Arndtsen group, where he was awarded a Hydro-Quebec graduate fellowship. When not juggling reactions in the lab (figuratively speaking, of course), Boran is an avid sports fan, notably a die-hard follower of the Green Bay Packers and Montreal Canadiens. He is currently investigating the use of amino-acids in asymmeteric transition metal catalysis as a simple and tunable approach to enantioinduction.
