Zhen was born in China in June 2000. After completing his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at the University of Toronto, he started his Ph.D. in the Arndtsen Group at McGill in September 2022. He is currently working on photochemical alkyl halide carbonylation reactions utilizing Nickel and Iridium catalysts. Outside of the lab, he is also a cook, a pianist, a photographer and an anime lover.
